Moonshine Jug

8"x 8" Canvas Panel

Available

Sick...again, grrrr!! And here at Christmas...great timing. I think my immune system is on the fritz! Anyway... every time I see one of these jugs, I think of my deceased grandfather. He used to make moonshine whiskey back in the 50's. My mother has told me many interesting stories about him and his extra curricular activities...all worthy of a Hollywood movie, lol! Anyhoo... I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

Here it is...

...my first oil painting. I know you are wondering, did I like it? Well...let's just say it was a little frustrating! To me, it is in a totally different league than acrylics. I just expected it to be easier than it was. And just think..it was just a simple cherry! This is a medium I will definitely have to tackle again...but not today! (:

Yep...back to the fruit. (: As you probably noticed, I am still experimenting with the brush strokes. I went to Jerry's Artarama today in Nashville to get art supplies...I could have walked around in there for hours, lol. I will paint with oils for the first time this week. Curious to how that will turn out. Anyway...hope everyone had a good weekend!

LOL...I had to take a short break from the fruit...so I thought I would paint some flowers. It has been so yucky outside here. The last little bit of snow is melting away...now it is just really muddy. It was pretty while it lasted! (: Have a great weekend!!

I loosened up my brush strokes some on this one, which is getting a little easier for me. I try not to be such a strict artist...or whatever (:! I really am pleased with this one. Tata

I just can't seem to stop painting pears. I really like to paint those little devils. You will probably have to look at a few more because I have some ideas roaming around in my head that include them. I hope you enjoy this one.

I really suffered through this one...not that it was difficult but because I feel like I have been run over by a truck...a big one. I rarely get sick, but when I do...ew it's bad. Anyway...I thought if I painted it would help me forget how bad I felt. It worked for awhile...then I started remembering again. Tata!
